The BDR1L Beam Dump is a commonly used laser safety component in optical labs, designed to absorb laser energy. It scatters and absorbs continuous-wave (CW) or pulsed laser beams through multiple internal reflections and absorption processes, converting the energy into heat. The laser enters through a Ø17.2 mm aperture and strikes a conical surface that effectively scatters the beam, minimizing back-reflection. Recommended for use with CW or pulsed lasers of up to 10 W power.
