The CSB series lens tubes are ideal for constructing compact optical cage systems. Each tube can hold one or more optical elements. With the use of retaining rings, the axial position of each optic can be precisely set and held in place. These stackable tubes are compatible with all Ø25 mm SM1-threaded components. Each tube comes with one retaining ring, and additional rings can be purchased for more complex builds.

The CSA-V series lens tubes are ideal for building compact, light-tight optical systems. Each tube features two side openings that allow easy, tool-free adjustment of mounted optics, even after assembly. This flexibility makes them suitable for complex optomechanical configurations.

CSK1 SM1 (1.035"-40) Stress-Free Retaining Ring
• Standard SM1 (1.035"-40) external thread;
• Designed to reduce stress when clamped;

• Grooves on the retaining ring allow quick adjustment using a spanner wrench;
This design uses an O-ring made of nitrile rubber to reduce stress on the surface of the optical element and achieve light-tight sealing around the optic. Like our other standard retaining rings, the stress-free retaining ring also features two grooves compatible with spanner wrenches.

We offer various retaining rings for securing optical components into threaded mounts, lens tubes, and unmounted optic adapters. Two retaining rings are typically used to center the optic within the lens tube: one to hold the position, and the other to lock it in place.
